Logging In
- 1Download the AXIS CloudSync app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- 2Open the app. The Login screen will appear.
- 3In the Host field, enter your organization's AXIS CloudSync host URL (e.g., yourorg.syncedtool.com).
- 4Enter your username (email address) and password.
- 5Tap Login.

Managing Files
Tap any file to open and view it. For files that require editing, use the Open In option to send the file to a compatible third-party app (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Renaming, Moving, and Deleting
- 1Tap the Files button to open your file list.
- 2Tap Edit (top-right corner) to enter selection mode.
- 3Select the file or folder you want to manage.
- 4Use the action buttons at the bottom of the screen to Rename, Move, or Delete the item.
Marking Favorites for Offline Access
Tap the star icon next to any file or folder to mark it as a Favorite. Favorites are downloaded to your device and available even without an internet connection.
Locking Files to Prevent Conflicts
File locking prevents other users from editing a file while you are working on it β essential for collaborative environments.
- 1Tap the Files button.
- 2Tap Edit (top-right corner).
- 3Select the file or folder you want to lock.
- 4Tap the Lock button at the bottom of the screen.
The item will show a lock icon. Other users will see the file as locked and will not be able to edit it until you unlock it.
Auto Camera Backup
Auto Backup automatically uploads your camera roll photos and videos to a folder called Camera Uploads in your AXIS CloudSync account. This ensures you always have a secure, HIPAA-compliant backup of your mobile media.
- 1Tap the Settings button.
- 2Tap Enable Auto Backup.
- 3Configure Back Up Photos: choose Never, Over Wi-Fi Only, or Over Wi-Fi or Mobile Network.
- 4Configure Back Up Videos with the same options.
- 5Tap Back Up Now to trigger an immediate backup (subject to your connection settings).
Important
Android Differences
The Android app offers the same core functionality as the iOS app with a few differences:
- Android supports seamless in-app file editing via Microsoft Office and other third-party apps with fewer limitations than iOS.
- The passcode is called a PIN on Android devices.
- Android users may see slightly different UI layouts due to platform design guidelines, but all features are equivalent.
